The purpose of IN Zeta’s Phi challenge is to allow members to:
· Become a more active member of the chapter
· Participate in campus events
· Develop a healthy lifestyle
· Prepare for future job opportunities
The second part of the Balanced Man Program, the Phi Challenge allows flexibility with time for the challenge participants, letting them get through the challenge sometime between 8 and 52 weeks. There is no set order for challenge meetings, which are listed here:
· Leadership Dilemma
o This meeting focuses on the dilemma facing fraternity men today, forcing members to discuss how fraternities are portrayed in the media and why they are perceived in some way.
· Benefits of Fraternalism
o This meeting gives an overview of SigEp’s national structure and also stresses the importance of interfraternalism.
o Guests: Dr. Carolyn Whittier, Valparaiso University Assistant Dean of Greek Life, and the IFC President
· Conflict Resolution
o In this meeting, brothers will talk about how to effectively work as a team, even if members disagree.
o Guests: Professional Mediator
· Practice Slating meeting
o This meeting is typically covered during the meeting before the slating process begins so that challenge participants can gain an understanding of the benefits and procedure of slating for executive board elections.
· Resume Review
o This meeting stresses the importance of updating a resume and helps members transition from a high school resume to a college resume.

· Risk Management Discussion
o This meeting discusses the importance of effective risk management in the chapter.
o Guests: VUPD Officer, IFC Standards Chair, Chapter Counselor
· Ritual Importance
o This meeting allows members to discover how the ritual process works from other points of view.
o Guests: Chaplain and the Ritual Team
· Your Role
o This meeting serves as a State of the Chapter Discussion between Phi Challenge participants and Brother Mentors to discuss where the chapter is currently, where they would like to see the chapter go, and how they can do their part to move the chapter in that direction.
