Brothers from Valpo attended Carlson Leadership Academy, an annual leadership retreat aimed towards the development of Sigma Phi Epsilon upcoming leaders, renaissance volunteers, and executive board. Brothers attended different educational tracks within the academy for each executive board track. Rising leaders in the Freshmen class tuned in on a separate track, which showed them how to be leaders both in and out of the chapter.
In addition to chapter educational resources, brothers also caught a glimpse into the future of SigEp. These were represented in the presentations of:
- Success with substance-free facilities
- Future of the Residential Learning Community
- Making data-driven decisions with the brotherhood questionnaire’
Valpo IN Zeta ’91 Alumni Volunteer Matt Engelhardt participated in a task force deciding the fate of the Residential Learning Community, or RLC. The goal of these changes are to make more consistent and inclusive requirements of the RLC, an honor given to SigEp chapters that strengthen culture and advance learning. A conclusion will be decided by the Grand Chapter Conclave in July, bearing fruits of the task force’s diligence, and will be rolled out.
Brothers were thrilled to accept the Excelsior Award for Standards and Accountability; reflecting the synonymity of our actions with our values of virtue, diligence, and brotherly love.
