Twelve brothers from IN Zeta attended SigEp’s Life After College professional development event in Indianapolis over the weekend of November 17-18. The conference featured programming catered to sophomores and seniors alike. Each brother was able to customize his Life After College experience by choosing to attend the sessions that would be most helpful to him. Among other skills, brothers learned:
- How to articulate the value of their SigEp experience to potential employers on their resume
- The power of their own ambitions and passions to bring meaning to a career
- Basics of personal finance and common retirement savings options
- How micro-innovations and designing to best meet customer needs have a colossal impact in making one company more successful than a competitor
Talks at Life After College were delivered by some of SigEp’s many successful alumni.
Several brothers benefitted from one-on-one career coaching. A few of the career coaches were IN Zeta alumni and volunteers! Thanks to Kyle Brown, Tommy Morrison, and Carrie Whittier for taking time out of your busy schedules to come and coach our brothers as they prepare to enter the professional world.
Our brothers capped off the weekend with dinner at The Rooster in downtown Indianapolis to enjoy dinner with Valparaiso University’s dean of Greek Life, Carrie Whittier (pictured above).
All of our brothers found Life After College to be helpful, enjoyable, and a fantastic start to Thanksgiving Break!
